(WXYZ) — The Michigan Lottery temporarily closed its regional claim offices to the public Thursday to combat the potential spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
The offices affected are in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Livonia, Saginaw, Sterling Heights, and Lansing.
Banks that work with the lottery to process claims may remain open, however, those banks will not be able to process any prize claims for the time being, according to the Michigan Lottery.
The offices are expected to reopen soon.
Lottery prizes of up to $600 can be claimed at retailers and prizes of $601 to $50,000 can be claimed via U.S. mail. Prizes claims of $50,001 can only be processed by appointment.
All lottery drawings will continue as usual, according to the Michigan Lottery.
