Michigan Lottery warns people to be aware of prize scams

(WXYZ) — The Michigan Lottery is warning people to beware of lottery scams that tell people they won a big prize, but must pay a fee or provide sensitive personal information to get it.

Lottery officials say these types of scams can increase during time of uncertainty.

Officials remind everybody that the Lottery processes all prize claims for free, and that all winner must have a valid winning ticket to claim a prize. They also stress that if you haven't bought a ticket, you can't win a prize.
