A Sumpter Township woman was sentenced Wednesday for the murder and torture of her 4-year-old daughter.
Candice Diaz and her boyfriend Brad Fields were charged with felony murder, second-degree murder, torture and first-degree child abuse in connection with the death of 4-year-old Gabby Barrett.
Barrett was found unresponsive and covered in burns inside her home in Sumpter Township on New Year's Day 2018.
A coroner ruled her death a homicide with evidence of multiple traumatic injuries.
Diaz will spend 30 to 60 years in prison. Fields was previously sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
