Michigan playground closed after 41 razor blades found

EATON RAPIDS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A playground in Eaton Rapids is closed after people found several razor blades on and around the equipment.

The Eaton Rapids Police Department was dispatched to Howe Park in regards to a "suspicious situation."

Police say some of the blades appeared to have been placed intentionally to cause harm.

The citizens reportedly recovered approximately 39 blades before officers arrived. The officers and city staff recovered an additional two.

Witnesses said they saw four persons of interest that had been on the equipment. They were described as two males and two females approximately 17 to 18 years of age.

City workers also recovered additional blades located in the grass on GAR Memorial Island. The city is closing all public parks until inspections can be made.

The city is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
