Michigan comes in at number nine for the top 10 states with bullying problems, according to a WalletHub study

To identify the states where bullying is most pervasive, WalletHub compared states across 20 key metrics, ranging from "bullying-incident rate" to "truancy cost for schools" to "share of high schools being bullied online."

Michigan's bullying prevalence was particularly high in terms of cyberbullying - it ranked fifth for percentage of high school students bullied online.

In addition, it ranked 11th in percentage of high school students bullied on school property, 15th in percentage of high school students involved in physical fights at school and 16th in percentage of high school students who missed school for fear of being bullied.

However, Michigan ranked also high in terms of anti-bullying laws; it ranked second in state anti-cyberbullying laws requiring school policy and ninth in state anti-bullying laws and policies.
