(WXYZ) — In an effort to equip the community with the tools needed to keep themselves and others safe, the Michigan State Police has shared eight signs of terrorism or suspicious activity.
From surveillance to elicitation to acquiring supplies, these are the eight signs to watch for, according to the Michigan State Police.
The second is elicitation. This is trying to gain information about law enforcement and/or military operations, people or capabilities. These attempts can be in person, over the phone, by email, or by mail. pic.twitter.com/hjcUtrpHGE

The fourth sign is acquiring supplies. It could be as complex as weapons and ammo, military uniforms or false id’s. It could also be police uniforms and police lighting. Or gathering concrete pieces or buying pepper spray to use during disturbances. pic.twitter.com/d3IL9kvoTr

The Sixth sign is a dry run. This includes putting people in position. Conducting a walk through of the event without actually committing the act or crime. Making sure that travel times to and from the event work out. pic.twitter.com/0GiVeZF6up

Finally Number Eight. And as always it involves money or financing. Suspicious transactions, large withdrawals or deposits. Soliciting for money for criminal activities. These are most visible by those that work in financial institutions or family members pic.twitter.com/IjhRFnGoEh
