More snow is in the forecast to kick off the workweek in Metro Detroit and unlike the snow, which came through over the weekend, this batch will have a better chance of accumulating in more areas.

Storm Position

Storm track is always important when pinpointing where the heaviest snow will take place. This particular storm will have a sharp cut off and dry-slot working against its snow production. This sharp cutoff will create a situation where areas along and south of I-94 will see more snow than areas north of M-59. A dry-slot will "cut" into the snowfall amounts too, causing the storm to produce less snow by shortening the duration of the snowfall.

Snow Forecast

The forecast considering everything mentioned above is 2" - 4" for most locations. There is still a chance some areas could reach 5" or more but that will be south of I-94 and isolated since the snow ratios are not great. There is also a chance of some mixing of sleet and freezing rain closer to the Michigan / Ohio state line.
