(WXYZ) — A man who was captured after being featured as a Detroit's Most Wanted is back on the run after skipping out on his bond following a court hearing.

Nathan Payne was arrested in December, just days after our report. He was being sought in connection with the violent attack on a woman at the MNM Motel on 8 Mile on Detroit's east side.

“They’re trying to seriously harm her, they grab the hammer, they’re throwing hailmakers, I mean she could have hit her in her skull and crushed her skull- she’s just throwing blind hailmakers all over the place,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia, DFAT supervisor said in our initial report.

Payne was arraigned on charges of Assault with Intent and Ethnic Intimidation. Bond was set at $5,000 10%.

Payne posted the 10%, or $500. He then failed to show up for a court hearing on Thursday.

At that point a warrant was issued for his arrest.

“Nathan Payne is a third habitual offender, criminal history, narcotics, sex acts and we believe he’s a vagrant person going from hotel to hotel all down 8 Mile on the east side of Detroit,” Garcia said.

Payne’s criminal history gives the Marshals clues as to where he may be.

Nathan Payne is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

“He has that beard and bald head but obviously that can be changed up,” Garcia said.
