The parents of a 6-year-old boy say he was sexually assaulted in a bathroom at Mark Twain School for Scholars Monday.

After one of their older children told them what allegedly happened to his brother, the child revealed to the parents details that led them to taking the boy to a local hospital where the diagnosis was listed as "Alleged child sexual abuse."

"I cry for him," said the boy's mother who talked to 7 Action News Wednesday after removing all five of her children from Detroit Public Schools Community District.

The alleged victim's mother says the teacher reportedly walked away from the bathroom when he should have remained outside until the boys were finished using the restroom. She also took cell phone video of her son showing her that the lock on the bathroom stall is misaligned and unable to lock.

Detroit Police Sex Crimes Unit is investigating.

A spokesperson for the school district says the result of their investigation does not substantiate the claim of sexual assault.

The mother of the six-year-old says the father of the older student told her that his son will not be returning to the school and that he's in need of help.

A spokeswoman for Detroit Public Schools Community District wrote in a statement:

The Principal launched an investigation after receiving a parent complaint that her 1st grade student was allegedly sexually assaulted by another first grade student while using the restroom. Upon completing the investigation, there is no evidence to substantiate the allegations.
