The driver was in the left lane of westbound I-94 on Wednesday, July 8 around 5:30 p.m., when he heard a noise, investigators said.

The next morning, the driver checked the rented U-Haul van he was driving and found a bullet hole.

Police say it's possible that the bullet came from the neighborhood along the freeway.

This is just one of now more than a dozen recent shootings on metro Detroit freeways in recent weeks, with two shootings resulting in death.

Many of the incidents were the result of road rage, police say.
