The puppy named "Chandler" is doing so good after surgeries to repair his mutilated genitals, that he's been released from critical care!

Chandler is now going to continue to recover in a foster home before being placed up for adoption.

Kristina Rinaldi, Executive Director for Detroit Dog Rescue, has spent afternoons and nights comforting Chandler after he was found by a Good Samaritan in Chandler Park after someone reportedly dumped him out of a car.

The Good Samaritan picked the puppy up and noticed his genitals had been mutilated.

But, thankfully, Chandler is on the mend thanks to so many people who donated to his care through Detroit Dog Rescue.

And the pup will be in good hands until he's adopted. Rinaldi and her family will be keeping a close eye on Chandler for the next two to three weeks in their home as he remains on pain medication and socializes with children and other dogs - all in anticipation for the biggest day of Chandler's great new life.. Getting adopted.

Rinaldi says Chandler should be ready for adoption mid-June.

So, while someone will be lucky enough to make Chandler a part of their family, don't forget that there are so many other dogs in need and still waiting for someone to love and a place to call home.
