Ford announced Wednesday that it had issued three recalls , one of which alone affects 1.48 million pickup trucks.

That recall covers certain 2011-2013 model F-150 trucks. The trucks have a transmission issue that "may experience an intermittent loss of the transmission output speed sensor signal to the powertrain control module," which could cause the truck to shift into first gear. In certain situations, a sudden downshift could cause drivers to lose control.

Ford said that it is aware of five accidents related to the issue.

A second recall issued by ford covers 27,000 2017-2019 Lincoln Continental sedans. An issue with the door latch motor could potentially cause the door to malfunction and open while driving.

Finally, Ford also issued a safety compliance recall on certain 2019 Ford Mustangs, Lincoln Nautiuses and Lincoln Navigators, as some drivers have reported that the instrument panels on the car could be blank on starting.
