U.S. Navy divers may soon be getting a new piece of high-tech hardware.

According to a news release, engineers are working on what they're calling a "futuristic" system for the military diving community, and let's just say Tony Stark would be proud.

This diving helmet, which researchers liken to something out of an Iron Man movie, has a high-resolution display that is built right in.

It's known as the Divers Augmented Vision Display or DAVID. The system gives divers the ability to see operational data in real-time during underwater missions.

Divers wearing DAVID can reportedly see things like sonar, text messages, and augmented reality videos.

The Navy says the technology will help crews navigate to a target more accurately and make them more aware of their surroundings.
