NB Lodge Freeway at Eight Mile reopens after road rage shooting investigation

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police closed down the Lodge Freeway near the Southfield Freeway Sunday evening due to a shooting investigation.

The victim called police at 7:25 p.m. Sunday stating he had been shot and was bleeding, according to MSP.

Police say the victim was traveling on northbound M-10 when he was involved in a road rage incident with the suspected shooter. That's when the suspect pulled up next to the victim's vehicle and reportedly shot at him. The victim pulled over on the side of the freeway and called authorities.

The shooter was driving an orange passenger car, according to MSP.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is undergoing surgery. He is expected to survive.
