The nephew of Jay Sebring says the so-called faceless victims of the Charles Mansion murders need to be remembered, not the cult killers.

Manson died in the hospital Sunday at age 83.

Anthony Di Maria is a Hollywood actor and Sebring’s nephew.

“His life really was an inspiring and truly glorious life,” he tells 7 Action News.

Sebring was the hair stylist to the Hollywood heavy hitters in the 1960s and was a pioneer setting the trends of the times.

He was featured on the game show To Tell The Truth as an accomplished talent but with a face and name not known too well in Detroit or on main street America.

Di Maria is making a documentary on his uncle talking to the actors and elite who worked with Sebring 50 years ago.

He’s gotten several requests for interviews and he’s happy to do them to change the narrative of the day centering on Manson and his followers.

“Somehow (they’ve) have been covered in the media as counter culture, rock star killers.”
