We all know the metro Detroit area is a booming place for foodies.

A new restaurant is opening in Birmingham that has something for everyone.

“We want people to come four times a day, not four times a year,” said Co-owner and Chef of Hazel, Ravines and Downtown restaurant, Emmele Herrold.

She’s hoping people are hungry for a place where they can go for all their dining out needs. There is a market area, a dining room that seats 120 people and a bar and private meeting area.

The owners named it after the city’s neighborhoods.

“Three of which are Hazel, Ravines and Downtown, and they converge right at this building,” Herrold said.

HRD, for short, is on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Maple Road.

The menu also has a theme. The “Hazel” side serves comfort food, like pot roast and grilled cheese.

“Ravines” has an international flair.

“A lot of different cultures come into play there," Herrold said.

And the “Downtown” menu is all about the latest trends.

“That one will rotate a lot," Herrold said. "New ingredients, fun ways to play with food.”

They’re focused on giving folks a place to eat good food without a stuffy atmosphere in Birmingham.

“That’s the vibe they want," Herrold said. "Just because it's not available doesn’t mean they aren’t looking for it.”

If you live in Birmingham, don’t worry about parking. Use an Uber or Lyft and the cost of that will be taken off your bill.

“We really want to promote staying in there own city,” Herrold added.

The restaurant opens Monday, Oct. 29.
