New Haven police are searching for a man who was caught on surveillance video burglarizing homes.
He's accused of trying to break into a man's home on River Oaks Drive while he was sleeping early Sunday morning.
Police say the crook ripped a hole in the screen door, but eventually gave up and moved on to the home next door.
People in the area tell 7 Action News they suspect several homes were targeted.
They fear the man behind it could return to their neighborhood.
