A new name for the semi-pro hockey team coming to St. Clair Shores has been revealed.

The team, which will compete in its inaugural season this fall in the Federal Hockey League will be called the "Fighting Saints."

In a news conference Wednesday afternoon, the newly-formed team revealed the logo, jersey, and colors that will be donned by the players this fall.

The Fighting Saints name, in a way, pays homage to the Saints, which has been the name of the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association's youth travel team for many years.

This will be the second team from the state of Michigan to compete in the Federal Hockey League. Last year, the Port Huron Prowlers began playing at McMorran Place, and the team won the league championship in its first year.

Last month, members of city council unanimously approved to bring semi-pro hockey to the city. The team will play at St. Clair Shores Civic Arena, which will receive numerous upgrades before play begins there this fall.

Tickets to the games start at just $10 for adults. Season tickets are also on sale and can be purchased here.
