NFL Draft 2019: Here are the Michigan players projected to be taken

(WXYZ) — The 2019 NFL Draft is just a few days away, and several players from Michigan universities are projected to be chosen in the draft.

REMINDER: You can watch the draft on Channel 7 beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, with coverage continuing into Friday and Saturday.

University of Michigan

Devin Bush - Linebacker

Devin Bush is projected to be an early first-round pick. The 5-foot-11, 234-pound linebacker led the Wolverines with 80 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and six pass breakups. He didn't play in the team's bowl game. Bush is projected to be a top 15-20 pick in the draft.

Rashan Gary - Defensive End

Rashan Gary is another top-15 projected pick for the Wolverines. The 6-foot-4, 277-pound defensive end had 44 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He also didn't play in the team's bowl game.

Chase Winovich - Linebacker

Chase Winovich was one of the most well-known players on the Wolverines defense last season. At 6-feet-3 and 256 pounds, Winovich played on the outside as an edge linebacker for Michigan, rushing the passer with quick speed. He's projected to be drafted on day two in the second or third round.

David Long - Cornerback

David Long earned first-team All-Big Ten honors last season for the Wolverines. He had two interceptions and six pass breakups to go with 21 tackles and two tackles for loss. He's projected to be drafted in the third or fourth round.

Zach Gentry - Tight End

At 6-feet-8 and 265 pounds, Zach Gentry is a big tight end that had 32 catches for 514 yards and two touchdowns last season. He is projected to be drafted in the later rounds.

Karan Higdon - Running Back

Karan Higdon finished his senior season with the Wolverines as the leading rusher with 224 carries, 1,178 yards and ten touchdowns in 11 starts. He also sat out the bowl game for Michigan and could be a late-draft pick.d

Michigan State University

Justin Layne - Cornerback

Justin Layne had one interception and 15 pass breakups last season for the Spartans, and added 72 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. He's a tall cornerback at 6-feet-2 and is projected to be taken on day two of the draft in the second or third round.

LJ Scott - Running Back

LJ Scott only played in five games last season for the Spartans due to an injury, but was an All-Big Ten pick in 2016. He's projected to be drafted in the late rounds.

Felton Davis - Wide Receiver

Felton Davis had 31 catches for 471 yards and four touchdowns in his final season with Michigan State but did tear his Achilles in October. He's projected to be a late-round draft pick as well.

Central Michigan University

Sean Bunting - Cornerback

Sean Bunting was named CMU's defensive player of the year last season as he had two interceptions, two forced fumbles, 37 tackles and three tackles for loss. He's projected to be picked on day two in the second or third round.

Xavier Crawford - Cornerback

Another cornerback expected to be drafted for the Chippewas, one interception, 12 pass breakups and 24 tackles for Central Michigan as a graduate transfer. It's expected he'll be picked in the later rounds.

Eastern Michigan University

Maxx Crosby - Linebacker

At 6-feet-5, Crosby was named to the All-Mac team last season 70 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and and 7.5 sacks. He also added four forced fumbles for the Eagles. It's projected Crosby will be drafted in the later rounds.
