A northern Michigan couple was among the people killed in the mass shooting at a Texas church on Sunday morning.

According to 9&10 News, Robert and Shani Corrigan, from Harrison in Clare County, were killed in the shooting. Harrison is located about 30 miles north of Mount Pleasant.

A Facebook page for Robert lists him living in Floresville, Texas, just miles from Sutherland Springs were the shooting happened.

Devin Kelley opened fire during service at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas on Sunday morning, killing 26 people and wounding nearly 20 others.

The massacre killed about 4% of the small town's population. And no one at the church was left unscathed, Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt said.

"I think nearly everyone had some type of injury," the sheriff told reporters Monday.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called the slaughter "the largest mass shooting" in the state's history. But it's still unclear what motivated the killer.
