NOVI, Mich. (WXYZ) — Novi police are implementing an innovative crackdown on speeders in Novi, aiming to make the roads safer for drivers and construction workers.

“We need to have it because too many people are driving too fast around here,” driver Kathleen Roderick said.

Novi police have a message for anyone speeding through a construction zone: Don't expect a warning. Also, don't expect to see an officer in uniform. On Twitter, they’ve posted an alert to indicate officers will be using radar and dressing as construction workers.

The enforcement will be on Novi Rd. & Cranbrooke Dr. Those are areas where many citizens have complained about high speeds and construction workers tell us some drivers have even been caught going the wrong way into oncoming traffic.

Police along Cranbrooke Drive & Novi Rd. could also be ticketing for other offenses besides speeding as well.
