Oakland County deputy injured after chasing down suspect who stole donation box from church

OAKLAND COUNTY (WXYZ) — Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard lauded one of his deputies Tuesday in a Facebook and Twitter post and the officer chased down a suspect who had stolen a donation box from a place of worship.

"Almost everyday it seems we have a deputy injured in the jail or on the road," Bouchard wrote in the post, which shows the bloodied and bruised arms of the deputy, who wasn't named.

The deputy chased down the suspect, and there was a struggle to arrest him.

Bouchard wen on to say that he's "proud" of his deputies, adding that they do a "challenging job day in and day out. They #neverquit."

The suspect, 29-year-old Ouinton Hunt, was charged with larceny from a building and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
