Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard is kicking off the 30th annual “Coats for the Cold” Coat Drive.
Individuals may donate new or gently-used coats to any of the drop-off sites.
Coat drive partner 1-800-MINI-STORAGE has again donated the drop boxes for the approximately 60 drop-off sites around Oakland County.
Additionally, COWS of Pontiac (Container on Wheels) is placing four portable storage units for coat collection.
All coat donations will be distributed to a number of different human service agencies who will provide the coats to their clients at no cost.
Some of the agencies who will receive coats again this year include: Baldwin Center, Catholic Community Response Team, Dream Center of Pontiac, Judson Center, Ladies of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Matchan Nutrition Center, Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA), Oakland Schools Homeless Student Services, Open Door Outreach Center, Safe Harbor Community Services, Lighthouse of Oakland County, Hope Warming Center, and Grace Centers of Hope.
