Oakland County warns of imposter taking advantage of water crisis

An imposter is posing as an emergency official in Oakland County advising residents to evacuate an area affected by the water main break, according to the Oakland County Homeland Security Division.

The imposter claims to be a representative from the Oakland County Emergency Operations Center. The person is calling facilities by the 14 Mile Road water main break and tell them they need to evacuate.

There are no official evacuation orders at this time. 

Facilities that get calls from person claiming to be from the Emergency Operations Center advising them to take action, they are urged to call the actual office at 248-858-5300.
