With just about three weeks left until the Michigan Primary Election, presidential candidates are hitting the campaign trail across the state.
Republican presidential candidate John Kasich visited Macomb County on Monday night, with another stop in Wayne County on Tuesday morning.
The stop in Macomb is Kasich's third of the day, after stopping at Grand Valley State University and Michigan State University in the morning and afternoon.
Kasich, entered the Macomb County Republican Headquarters to a standing ovation on Monday night.
"I want to take questions, because I love the town halls and maybe tell you just a little bit about myself because I don't think most of you know much about me only that I'm from Ohio,” said Kasich.
He kept the tone light and informal, but he talked about a wide array of topics, ranging from healthcare to Syrian refugees.
He said residents and everyday people need to be a part of the change, but government needs to change.
"The only thing that doesn't move fast, government!," Kasich said. "We need to Uber-ize government and we need to change it at every single level."
He's riding the wave of coming in second in the New Hampshire primary and plans to use the same strategy right here in Michigan. Before New Hampshire's primary, he did 116 town halls.
Kasich wasn't the only candidate in Michigan on Monday. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders spoke at Eastern Michigan University Monday afternoon.
