There's a big event this weekend to fight oral cancers, commonly known as head and neck cancers.
The Second Annual Oral Cancer Foundation 5K Walk/Run for Awareness is being held Sunday, August 7 at Seaholm High School in Birmingham. Walk registration is at 8 a.m.
The Centers for Disease Control says more than 8,000 people die from it every year, and the 5-year survival rate is just above 50%.
