Dixon Educational Learning Academy was placed on lockdown this morning because of a brawl between adults, according to DPS officials.

District police officers responded to the school off Joy Road after reports of a fight in a hallway. Four people were arrested for Assault and Battery.

One woman who came to pick up some of the children tells Action News the parent fight unfolded Friday because of a Thursday tussle that happened between their kids.

Detroit Public Schools issued the following statement about the brawl: "Dixon Educational Learning Academy was placed on temporary lock down this morning due to a fight between adults that occurred in a school hallway. DPS Police responded immediately and four adults were taken into custody for Assault and Battery and have been conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center. Once the altercation was cleared the lock down was lifted."
