(WXYZ) — There's a new study out that shows the connection between having kids and happiness.
The study from Heidelberg University in Germany found that having kids will make you happier than staying childless.
Researchers say parents tend to be happier in old age than those without kids, but only if their kids have moved out.
The study suggests parents are happier because the stress of balancing childcare and work is replaced with a form of social support from their kids. It's something researchers say is crucial to happiness as we get older.
