10:05 a.m. Telegraph southbound near 9 Mile has reopened.

9:14 a.m.  Southfield police say the victim, a 41-year-old man from Commerce Township, was hit by two vehicles on Monday on southbound Telegraph.

Police say a wittiness reports the man getting hit by a vehicle around 4 a.m. before going back to his motel room. He then reportedly came back out around 4:50 a.m. and was struck by the approaching ambulance.

The ambulance drivers report the man appeared to dart out into the road as the vehicle approached.

Police say because the crew was transporting a non-priority patient to the hospital, the ambulance did not have its siren or lights activated.

5:40 a.m. Police are investigating after they say an ambulance struck and killed a man on southbound Telegraph early Monday morning.

The accident happened just south of 9 Mile in Southfield.

Currently, the southbound side of Telegraph has been shut down while officers investigate.
