PLYMOUTH, Mich. (WXYZ) — Plymouth Orchards and Cider Mill announced it will not be opening this fall due to COVID-19.

This is the first time the cider mill won't open in 35 years, and said the pandemic has caused too many health obstacles for them to operate safely.

"We believe that opening this year would be risky for our cider mill team, and our cider mill guests," the orchard said in a Facebook post. "Plymouth Orchards' core mission is to provide a family-oriented, seasonal farm experience, for our cider mill guests. We do not believe that we can do this, due to that current Covid-19 situation."

The orchard will still be making their apples and apple products available through various outlets, and will announce more information soon.
