POLICE: Elderly woman who offered to carry in groceries for woman robs her

RIVERVIEW, Mich. — The Riverview police are asking people to be on the lookout for an elderly woman who offered to help a woman carry groceries into her apartment last week and then robbed her.

According to a police report, the elderly woman, described as between 65 and 70 years old, approached another woman in the King's Forest Apartment parking lot and offered to help her carry groceries into her home. After the groceries were loaded into the home, the victim told police the elderly woman left in a hurry, without saying goodbye.

After some time, the victim checked her purse and noticed her wallet was missing. The wallet contained $325 and her license.

The elderly woman is described as white, 5'3, with shoulder length grey hair.
