Clinton Township police say they believe a husband and wife, killed in their own home, knew the suspect.

Officers were called to a home off Uthers Street around 1:30 p.m. Friday. Inside, they found Christy and James McKeogh dead. She was in the living room, he was in the garage.

Police chief Fred Posavets says Christy's brothers made the horrible discovery.

"They were trying to get ahold of her, she wasn't returning phone calls that morning. They became very worried, went to the house and discovered the bodies," said Posavets.

Autopsies show both, in their 50s, died from blunt force trauma to the head. There is no obvious murder weapon, according to police.

Right now, the search is on for a suspect.

"There was no forced entry, so it's not like it was an invader, we believe that they we're let into the house," said Posavets.

The chief says there was also no sign of a struggle.

"We believe, possibly this is somebody that may have known the couple," said Posavets.

Friends of the couple we spoke with were still too shocked to talk on camera, but describe Christy as someone everyone loved and James as an avid outdoorsman.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 586-493-7840.
