Police are looking for a man who robbed a hotel at gunpoint around 1 a.m. Thursday.

The suspect entered the lobby of the Microtel Inn carrying a gas can, police say. He returned a few minutes later holding a handgun in his left hand but did not fire any shots.

Police say he demanded that the clerk open the register and give him all the money. Several witnesses were in the lobby when the robbery occurred, but no one was injured. Police say the clerk was pregnant but not harmed.

One of the occupants, a 13-year-old girl, was allowed by the suspect to go sit with her mother. Police say everyone complied to the suspect's demands. The suspect then left the lobby in an unknown direction.

"It scared the life out of me," the young teenager told 7 Action News with the permission of her parents. "My heart dropped and I almost fell on the floor."
