DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are looking for a man who surrendered an infant to Sinai-Grace hospital Thursday morning. Police say they're concerned for the mother's welfare because the child appeared to be only a few hours old.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. The man arrived at Sinai-Grace Hospital on West Outer Drive and asked for another person who was also entering the building, to hold the baby until he parked his vehicle.

The man then left the location and never returned.

The man was driving a silver, older model Dodge Durango with a gold colored rear hatch.

Police say the infant is a girl. If you have information on this incident, contact Detroit police at 313-596-5329.
