BRIGHTON, Mich. (WXYZ) — Police are investigating an incident at a Planet Fitness in Brighton that occurred on Tuesday.
A woman said she was sitting in her car in the parking lot when she was approached by a man in his 40s to early 50s.
She cracked her window and asked, "Can I help you?" Police say the man reached for her door handle, causing her to drive off and come to the police department.
The Brighton Police Department said there was a similar incident a week ago where a self-proclaimed homeless man approached a woman in a parking lot in a similar manner and asked for money. Police say she drove off and notified the department.
Brighton Police reminded residents to stay aware of surroundings at all times.
Both incidents have been assigned to a detective who is coordinating with a Michigan State Police composite artist to provide a sketch of the suspect.
