Police arrest endangered missing man suspected in woman's death in Dearborn Heights

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — UPDATE: Authorities have arrested the man believed to be involved in the homicide of a woman in Dearborn Heights.

On April 18 around 10:30 a.m., the Dearborn Heights Police Department, along with the United States Marshall's Office, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol successfully located and took Mohammed Ali Saad into custody.

Police say Saad is the prime suspect in the murder of a 64-year-old female resident of Dearborn Heights that occurred during the evening hours of April 16, 2020.

Dearborn Heights Police need help locating an endangered missing man suspected in a woman's death.

On April 16 around 7 p.m., the Dearborn Heights Police Department received a 911 call about a woman needing medical attention in the 27000 block of Simone Street.

Officers and fire and rescue crews responded to the home and found the woman dead at the home.

While investigating this incident, it was discovered that a person of interest in this case was last seen driving the deceased woman’s silver 2018 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with Michigan Plate: DYV 2064, police say.

The vehicle was last seen in the area eastbound Simone Street, near Amboy Street within the city of Dearborn Heights. The police department is seeking information on the person driving the Silver Jeep Cherokee Laredo who been identified as an endangered missing person.

Police say that person, Mohamed Ali Saad, may be in need of medication and is believed to be in possession of the silver 2018 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with license plate: DYV 2064.

At this time, police do not believe this was a random act and say all individuals involved have been identified.

The Dearborn Heights Police Department and Michigan State Police are investigating the incident.
