In true Donald Trump fashion, his second visit to Michigan was bigger and louder than the first.
Nine thousand packed an arena outside Grand Rapids to support the republican front runner.
With a double digit lead in most national polls, Donald Trump is setting his sights on Michigan, targeting his populist message toward the blue collar voters who overwhelmingly support him.
Trump is launching a ground game in the state--- hiring a GOP organizer 80 days before the March 8th primary.
It's another indication of his surge in the polls.
"Right now, unless things change ,he is likely to win the Republican nomination in Michigan," says WXYZ-TV pollster Bernie Porn.
In fact, Trump may be stronger than polls suggest-- with most Republican primary voters agreeing with his call to ban Muslims from entering the country. But those same comments could hurt him in Michigan in the general election.
"I would be surprised if there wasn't a very strong turnout among Arab Americans in response to his comments," says Porn.
The latest poll shows Trump would lose Michigan in a head to head matchup against democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016. Both candidates are now targeting each other, in what is starting to sound more like a presidential race than a primary.
"Hillary Clinton... She's a liar," Trump told tonight's crowd.
