The Michigan Primary is one week away, and we could see a “Blue Wave” anti-Trump spike in turnout above the usual 20%.

Experts say there seems to be more intensity than usual among Democrats and independents.

We could also see how President Trump may positively influence some races including the statewide Republican Primary for U. S. Senate.

John James of Farmington Hills has a one-point lead over Sandy Pensler of Grosse Pointe.

Our expert pollster, Bernie Porn of Epic MRA in Lansing says James should trumpet the Trump endorsement over the remaining week, “I think they would be politically stupid not to. I assume they will.”

Among Michigan Republicans, Trump has coattails with an 80% approval rating and a 79% job performance rating.  Trump has endorsed Bill Schuette in the Republican Primary for Governor.

Former Presidential Candidate Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed Dr. Abdul El-Sayed in the Democratic Primary for Governor which could move him from third place to second.

Porn says, “That may increase the turnout. It could potentially cause him to potentially jump over the level of support that Shri Thanedar has.”

Many people are driven to vote next week because the discourse has reached a fever pitch.

Rick and Marjorie Blauvelt are turning in their absentee ballots today.

Majorie says, “I don’t feel safe at all right now.”

And Rick says, “I’d like to see the inflammatory rhetoric die down.”
