WXYZ DETROIT — On Sunday, November 22, Spotlight on the News will drill down on the new multi-million dollar development project officially underway at the University of Detroit Mercy in Northwest Detroit. What does it mean for that educational institution and the heart of one of the Motor City’s oldest neighborhoods? We’ll ask UDM President Dr. Antoine Garibaldi.

We'll also explore how Detroit's creative and activist class is shaping the image, design and diversity of Michigan's largest municipal area. Guests will include Detroiter Shirley Stancato; i.Detroit artist photographer & curator Marcus Lyon of London, England and DMJ Studio principal Donna Jackson, curator of the Posters on Politics exhibition.

Spotlight on the News, now in its 55th season, is Michigan's longest-running weekly news and public affairs television program. It airs every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 in Detroit, is streamed live on wxyz.com and broadcast at 11:30 a.m. on 23.1 WKAR-HD in East Lansing.
