(WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect after deputies say he carjacked a victim, made the victim drive him to a destination, open a beer and then give him all of his belongings before taking off in the victim's vehicle.
According to the sheriff's office, the 48-year-old victim was stopped at a stop sign near E. Rundell Street and N. Glenwood Avenue on Feb 21. when the suspect approached his vehicle and asked him to roll down his window. After the victim rolled down the window, the suspect reportedly let himself in and took out a pistol. The victim was then ordered to drive to the 100 block of N. Edith Street where the suspect then told the victim to open a can of beer for him, according to the sheriff's office. After drinking the beer and throwing the can out the window, the suspect reportedly demanded the victim's belongings and threatened to kill him.
The sheriff's office says the suspect collected the victim's belongings before the suspect left in the vehicle, leaving the victim outside.
Deputies are now searching for a 2003 black Ford Expedition with one front hub cap center painted blue and a silver front plate with the CAT logo.
The suspect is believed to be in his 30s, around 5'8" with a thin build and dread locks with blonde tips. He was wearing a black zip-up hoodie and white pants at the time of the incident, according to the sheriff's office.
