Protestors made an appearance at the QLINE's grand opening celebration in downtown Detroit.

They tell us they're fighting for even more transportation options.

The group called Motor City Freedom Riders gathered at the corner of Grand Circus Park, just yards from where

Governor Rick Snyder and Mayor Mike Duggan celebrated the new street trolley.

The group says the three-mile-long QLINE will have zero benefit for Detroiters who work outside the city limits.

They want increased and improved DDOT bus lines and transportation from county to county.

"Most employed Detroiters have a job north of 8 Mile and for the thousands of Detroiters who need to use the bus system to get to work, that can be a pretty serious hardship because there aren't many consistent lines that are moving across 8 Mile,” said Mason Herson-Hord with Motor City Freedom Riders.

The Regional Transportation Authority did have a mass-transit plan on the ballot last November, but it failed.

This group wants the RTA to revamp their plan and resubmit it to voters in 2018.
