It's a new app that gives users the ability to host their own talk show--except there's no talking involved, just texting.

The creator calls it "texting in public."

The TalkShow messaging app lets you have conversations among friends --with a side of onlookers. It's kind of like group texting but with more tailored conversation and a wider audience. Pictures and GIFs are welcome.

Michael Sippey, formerly of Twitter, created the app.

He says in a blog post that an uncluttered conversation between friends can be entertaining and informative for more than just the people directly chatting.

On TalkShow, you can find your friends, follow them and find out when they're hosting a show.

To host your own show, you shoot a message to a cohost or two, give your show a title and boom, your live audience awaits.

Your followers can then see what you're chatting about, post a reaction or request to be a cohost.

That's the key: only cohosts can share their thoughts and opinions. No uninvited guests.

TalkShow is available for the iPhone and iPad.
