A public transit issue on the ballot this November is dividing many Royal Oak residents.

It calls for residents to approve a five-year 1.25 millage transit plan.

The proposal includes a partnership with SMART, with additional buses and routes to downtown, Beaumont Hospital and the Detroit Zoo, among others.

The opposition says no one uses the current bus system and won't use the new one either.

If the public transit option passes on Nov. 6, it will be implemented next summer.
