DETROIT (WXYZ) — The founder and CEO of Pure Heart Foundation, a Detroit nonprofit aimed at helping children with incarcerated parents, took to Facebook to show her disappointment in those who broke into and vandalized a home for children in the organization.

"For the last 5 years I have dedicated and sacrificed ALL of me and my life with a smile on my face for my babies!!!!!" wrote Sherelle Hogan in a Facebook post on Feb. 21. "A day before our open house, someone broke in Pure Heart Foundation’s house and stole from some youth who’s already been through enough!!!! Our team is fighting for them, why are you fighting against us!!!"

The home was targeted the day before it was set to hold an open house.

The refrigerator, stove, hot water tank and furnace, along with cleaning supplies, school supplies, hygiene kits and the AC unit were all stolen from the home. Hogan said the vandals damaged the washer and dryer and took out every alarm system at the home.

"Hear me!!!!!! This will NOT stop me!!!! This will not stop us!!!! This is a blow, but it’s not the end," Hogan added in the post.

An outpouring of support followed the vandalism with donations. Hogan also posted how the public can make monetary donations to the charity through Cash app ($pureheartfou), PayPal (info@pureheartcares.org and www.pureheartcares.org), or by texting PUREHEART to 44-321.
