Raw pork sold at Kroger, Walmart recalled due to potential black rubber contamination

A sausage brand recalled raw pork patties sold at Walmart, Kroger and other stores.

The makers of popular Johnsonville Grillers cheddar cheese and bacon flavored sausages have recalled nearly 50,000 pounds of raw pork patties after reports that they may be contaminated with black rubber.

At least three people have reported finding pieces of the rubber in their pork burger patties.

The boxes in question have the numbers 34225 printed on the packaging and "Best Flavor By" dates of July and August 2019.

The following are subject to recall:

  • 24-oz. (1.5 lbs.) plastic bag in a carton of frozen “Johnsonville Grillers CHEDDAR CHEESE & BACON FLAVOR” with “Best Flavor By: 7/24/2019” represented on the label.
  • 24-oz. (1.5 lbs.) plastic bag in a carton of frozen “Johnsonville Grillers CHEDDAR CHEESE & BACON FLAVOR” with “Best Flavor By: 8/13/2019” represented on the label.
  • 24-oz. (1.5 lbs.) plastic bag in a carton of frozen “Johnsonville Grillers CHEDDAR CHEESE & BACON FLAVOR” with “Best Flavor By: 8/14/2019” represented on the label.

Packages can be returned to the store for a refund.
