DETROIT (WXYZ) — A driver is in critical condition after a wrong-way crash on the Lodge Freeway Sunday night. One of the drivers involved is an emergency response dispatcher, Detroit police say.

Michigan State Police say that troopers were dispatched to southbound M-10 near I-75 in Detroit for a crash.

Police say a Chevy Silverado was driving the wrong way and crashed head-on into a BMW sedan, which was traveling southbound in the left lane. The Silverado then traveled across the roadway and crashed into a Kia Optima, which was also traveling southbound in the center lane.

The vehicles all had very extensive damage, police say, and all of the drivers had to be cut out by the Detroit Fire Department.

Police say the driver of the BMW is in critical condition. The driver and passenger of the Kia are in stable condition and the driver of the Silverado also has minor injuries. It's unclear now which driver is the emergency dispatcher for the Detroit Police Department.

Impaired driving may be a factor in the crash, police say.
