It's a story we first brought you Monday - a woman paid a contractor to install an air conditioning unit, but she says she got more than she bargained for.

Now, this is just one of those stories that show there are some really good people in this world.

Sixty-seven year-old Ann Holdreith is overwhelmed because she now has the money needed to fix her ac-unit.

Ms. Holdreith says she paid a local contractor $1,800 to install an AC unit in her Royal Oak home about two weeks ago, but it's still not working.

She says she called the contractor several times to come back, but he never did. She then got estimates of $800 to get the problem fixed.

After our story aired, Robert Smith contacted us wanting to help. Today he put $800 cash in Ms. Holdreith's hands.

Now, as we continue to track down the contractor who we have reported before has taken money for jobs he hasn't completed., Ms. Holdreith will be able to have cool air in her home during the hot summer days and it's all thanks to Smith.

Ann says she also has some problems with her furnace. She's not sure if has anything to do with the AC unit.

We did make a few phone calls and there will be someone coming to her home today to check that out as well.
