DETROIT (WXYZ) — You are about to embark upon one of the biggest baby showers in Detroit. Three hundred expectant parents gather in one room, surrounding by gifts for the baby and the family, gifts that keep on giving.

It’s the 7th Annual Breastfeeding Awareness Community Shower. It’s hosted by the Detroit Health Department, The Women’s Infant and Children Program and the Wayne County Community Action Agency.
Together they are committed to making sure every single person who attends is prepared for their baby’s arrival. And in many cases breastfeeding is key.
