8-year-old Detroit boy mauled by two dogs on city's east side

An 8-year-old boy has been taken to Children's Hospital in Detroit after being mauled by two dogs on the city's east side.

The boy was one of three kids that were left unattended at a home in the 4000 block of Bewick. The other two kids are a 9-year-old and a younger child who is either 5 or 6-years-old.

Those children have been placed with relatives.

Three dogs were also at the home. Two of them were reportedly involved in the mauling. They have been removed from the home.

The third dog, which is not believed to have been a part of the attack, is still in the home.

The boy is in stable condition. His mother under arrested and being interviewed by the Detroit Police child abuse unit.
