A curfew is in effect beginning Saturday night for Angels' Night, the city of Detroit announced.

The curfew requires all minors age 17 and younger to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, with ID, from 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday and from 6 p.m Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

During the emergency curfew, minors will be allowed to travel to or from work, school or training programs, but must carry proof of employment or attendance.

Anyone violating the curfew will be ticketed and held until a parent or guardian can pick them up, and the parent may also receive a parental responsibility violation ticket.

The city also has an emergency gas ordinance in effect, that has been in effect since Thursday. It prohibits the dispensing of fuel into portable containers except for emergency situations. That stays in effect until Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m.
